Why clients choose APD

Licensed and checked

Every officer holds a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence, re-checked automatically against the SIA register.

Evidence you can use

Timestamped incident logs, refusal records and photo or video references, ready for licensing reviews.

Consistent faces

Where possible we keep the same officers on your door so they learn your regulars and your venue.

Door Supervision

Door staff who protect your licence

The door is the first impression your guests get and the first line of defence for your premises licence. Our door supervisors control entry, manage capacity and deal calmly with conflict before it escalates, so the atmosphere inside stays exactly how you want it.

Every officer is briefed on your venue, your dispersal plan and the conditions on your premises licence before their first shift. Refusals, ejections, welfare cases and first aid are logged digitally on the night, giving you an accurate record if the police or your licensing authority ever ask questions.

Who we work with

We supply door teams to licensed venues of every size, from a single supervisor at a busy pub on a Saturday to full door teams for nightclubs and late bars. Cover can be regular weekly shifts, seasonal peaks or one-off nights for private functions.

FAQs

Common questions

Can’t find what you are looking for? Contact our team and we will help.

Yes. Anyone working as a door supervisor at licensed premises must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence, and every officer we deploy does. Our reporting system re-checks licences against the public SIA register daily.

It depends on your capacity, layout, trading hours and premises licence conditions. Some licences specify a ratio. We will recommend a staffing level after a quick call or site visit.

Where availability allows, yes. Send us the date, hours and venue and we will confirm as quickly as possible.

We brief officers on your conditions and keep accurate incident logs and refusal records, which support you if the police or licensing authority review your venue.

Yes. Every incident is logged digitally as it happens, and on request we can provide PDF reports or a weekly summary of incidents, refusals and guest counts.

Martyn’s Law applies to premises where 200 or more people may be present at the same time. If your venue is in scope you will need procedures in place, and a well-trained door team is a big part of that. See our Martyn’s Law guide in News & Updates.
